Is it ok to go lower than the recommended barrel gap of .002  on my SuperMags?

I can go lower and the cylinder still rotates freely, Will it bind up once I start to fire and heat things up?

Thanks-

It probably will bind. If you shoot slowly and let it cool, as well as keep the carbon off the front of the cylinder you may be able to run it tighter. .002 is mighty tight so I doubt it will accomplish much. Let us know how it turns out.

I'd keep it at a minimum of .002 on the tightest chamber, any closer and it will bind rather quickly due to heat expansion and carbon build up from firing.

Same experience I have. .002 is just fine, on the tightest chamber. DW's are notorious for having slightly unsquare cylinder faces. Many have been returned to the factory over the years and those were faced off at no charge.
