Went by the gun shop by work last night and they had a Monson built Model 22.

Now I've been wanting one for some time, and we all know that .22s are hard to find.  Asking price is $680, but it comes with a 4" and 8" barrel.  I'm thinking that with the extra 8" barrel the price is probably about right, though quite honestly I probably haven't changed a barrel on any of my Dans in years, so I'd probably never use the 2nd barrel.

Also the 8" comes with a ramp sight.  For rimfire silhouette I would definitely want a patridge site, and nobody seems to have any. (CZ has never actually had any even though they were on the spares list a few years ago)

What does the group think?

I agree with them being harder to find, but Gunbroker has several right now, cheaper than $680.  Some have gone around a few times.  There is a nice stainless one being sold by a DWF member.
You didn't say what condition was of the one you looked at.  Any tools, box or papers?

They are nice fun guns, cheap to shoot, you will enjoy it.

It does have the barrel tool (important) and the feeler gauge (no big deal).  I'm sure it does not have the original box or manual.

Well you could go a couple of ways with this, buy the one you saw last night then you would know what you are getting, sell the barrel you don't want on Gunbroker or to me to off set the cost or buy one on Gunbroker for less but you also would have shipping and transfer fees.

Where I live thats close to being right. I would ask for cash and carry for 600.00. That way there would be no tax. It would cost you 50.00 for S/H and FFL from Gunbroker. It would be fun and cheap to shoot. Good luck.

I'd be willing to do $600 out the door; I suspect they wouldn't go below $650 cash out the door though.  Sales tax in AZ is now running almost 9.5%, so lots of places won't haggle down much past eating the tax.

Well part of me wants to say buy-now but then some responsibility kicks in.

I love my 22.  It has the smoothest trigger of any gun I own.  I missed if you described its condition.  I've paid $600 plus shipping and transfer fee in mine, only one barrel but it is an 8 inch.  It's in great condition, deep blue, minimal scratches.

Only you can determine what it is worth to you.  If it's good shape, you'll probably be glad you bought it.  My 22 is always fun to shoot.

That doesn't sound like an unreasonable price to me but cheaper is always better!
