There has been some discussion in one of the other threads about a DW in 22 Hornet. I think it sounds like a pretty cool idea especially if it can be done on the large frame instead of the SuperMag frame. Wonder if you could get more than six shots in there?
Well here is a thread over on The Firing Line about a guy that took a Taurus Raging Hornet and put a DW Barrel and Shroud on it. Interesting project.
Thought this would make for some interesting conversion...

Yung... I'm not sure how you break in a barrel.. I have never heard of doing that.. but I guess you do..
My buddy just got an AR-15.. and the manufacturer's info tells him to run a cleaning rod down the barrel after EVERY SHOT for the first 25 rounds.. then every 25 rounds for the first 100 rounds.. then it's supposed to be "broken in". I would guess that the same process may hold true for other barrels as well... but i really am not positive..

And yes I am in love with the .22 Hornet round.. I got a Springfield M-6 survival rilfe at a flea market last year.. it's a single shot .410 with a single shot .22LR, or .22 Magnum.. or .22 Hornet... I got the LR and the Hornet.. that little Hornet is a 200 Yard round.. very fast.. very accurate.. will drop a coyote or a small white tail easy.. and YES I would love to have a wheel gun in that caliber... ( I'm salivating on the keys.. sorry !! LOL).

I think I have seen, in the distant past, discussion of "break in" ammunition. Admittedly, this was intended for long range, high accuracy rifles. It involved a sort of "lapping" process where a set of ammunition was available increasingly finer grades of abrasiveness that sort of honed the barrel to a very fine finish and tolerance.
I don't remember how it worked exactly, does this ring any bells, or was this in the "parallel universe" I seem to live in sometimes?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

NO.. you are correct.. and you can still buy that stuff..... but it is expensive...
SIGH I must be getting old... "breaking in " a gun barrel was something me and my Dad did with a couple of boxes of Lubaloy .22 shorts and a hand full of paper targets on Saturday afternoon with the Remington Single shot rifle.....
