Three weeks ago I'd never touched a Dan Wesson revolver, but I had seen a few pictures, and heard they were "decent". I bought one at a pawn shop, shot it at a range, and then began to wonder what I had, and what I'd done.
Thanks to all-of-you (on the New Members, Revolver, What Did it Go For, and General Discussion Forums) I'm a good bit more comfortable with the gun "warts and all".
I have an identification: Model 14-2, 357 Magnum, 2 1/2" fixed bbl, fixed-sight service model. I have confirmed it's a "Palmer, Mass. Mismanufacture" that should never-have-left the factory, because the rear sight is so poorly machined into the frame. I have confirmed a "fix" for the sight. I also contacted CZ, USA about adjusting the sight. I didn't get a price, but your discussions on "shipping" satisfied me. Somehow, I'm not prepared to spend as much for shipping as the gun's purchase price.
As I think about it, I doubt this gun has been shot much. Nobody can hit a "well-aimed" shot with it. There's what appears to be holster wear. My LCR shows more cylinder rotation wear, and I have fewer than 2,000 rounds thru it.
I think I have a well-carried, seldom fired revolver. And I'm going to put it back into active service as an effective firearm.
Thanx again...

More guys will certainly jump in here, but
You Are Welcome!
I've been here for a while, actually pretty close to the start of DWF. Our Members are very knowledgeable and helpful, and this is one of the best mannered and positive Shooting Forums on the http://www...
Thanks for sharing your 14-2 FB with us.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

You're welcome, absolutely!
This forum has been & continues to be a great gathering spot of fine individuals, who just happen to love a certain fine firearm. I'm glad you joined our ranks & have given us the opportunity of answering questions pertaining to your 14-2. It's fun to share the knowledge base & it also helps others answer questions they may have about their own DW's.
Looking forward to many more conversations with you & everyone here on the

I totally agree with SHOOT this is one of the best forums ever. Most others are
full of guy's who must be sitting on ant hills because all they want to do is
bicker, complain, and right out smart @$s every answer they give.
We can all have a discussion on a subject and have different opinions, that's
what makes this country a great democracy. Respect is what they call it and
that seems to be a lost art in society these day's .
Godspeed the

I'm glad we could help that's what the DWF is all about!

Guys we really don't have anything to bicker about here! We all know that Dan Wesson's are the best, strongest, most accurate double action revolver ever made!
Seriously I'm an equal opportunity buyer. I have a few Smiths, Rugers, Colts, Berettas and a CZ (maybe other's but I can't remember right now). Just seems though only DW's really capture my attention any more.
