My .44 VH arrived today and I have to admit...even though the extra four-inch barrel is NOT a 2.5"...it's a pretty snazzy large frame revolver!

Some pics of a very clean Palmer revover...I've not had time to shoot it yet...maybe I'll just shoot my "shooter" .44??...I'll have to "thunk" on that one.

And with the four-inch barrel installed...

For some reason, I prefer the look of the longer 8" barrel on this revolver...just personal preference.

Very nice ole Blue!  Be careful with wrench they will frag if torqued to much. EWK has new ones as to keep the original nice.  I doo like the 4"  Although the 8" HV is perfect!  Nice grab!  Cool Pics

Great deal !!! finish looks very nice.  I also prefer the look of the 8"  barrel on a 44, but then again… they all look great Laugh

The 8" barrel does look more menacing, while the 4" makes it look trim & sleek. To me, anyway.Laugh

That's the great thing about DW's, you can have your cake and eat it too!Drool

Nice looking pictures!  We'll start taking submissions for the 2012 calendar next August!

The 4" is my favorite length on my 744... just handles like an extension of your hand.

Thanks for all the comments.  I am very happy with the gun.  A buddy came over today and I had to clean it all up again...drool everywhere.

I've not shot it yet...but that 8" barrel really looks/feels like it will soak up recoil!

Gorgeous.  The bluing is stunning.  I agree about the look of the 8 inch barrel.  All of my Dan's wear their VH8 barrel assemblies except 3 of them; 2 Li'l Dan's for which there is no VH8, and my 32 H&R Magnum for wich I don't yet have an 8-inch.

Old Western ammo boxes are pretty cool too.  Laugh  Whats that price tag say...$7.99 ?

Have not seen that for awhile.

Thanks...a little burlap for a neutral background and the guns seem to look prety good.

A friend bought the .44 boxes and was going to shoot it all...I offered some of my more recent ammo in trade...he only gave $8/box to an old guy who figured it was too old to shoot...I shot up 1/2 of a partail box...it's still stout...but inconsistant over the chony (which might be expected).
