Dan Wesson double action revolvers are back. It has been about 10 years since there have been new production DW revolvers on the market. CZ USA, which bought the Dan Wesson company in 2005, have made pistols under the name, but (until late last year) only a very limited number of revolvers. I am sure some of you reading this are familiar with the Dan Wesson’s. But I also bet there are a number of you that have no clue or think it must be a brand related to Smith & Wesson. For a little clarity lets take a look at Dan Wesson the man and a brief history of his company before we get to the review gun.

CZ re-introduced the 715 almost a year ago, and there were some finish issues at the time. They seemed to have done one production run, eventually sold them out, and have now gone back into production again.
$1168 MSRP for a 6" Stainless .357 Magnum? Pretty pricey IMO! By the time you build a new Pistol Pack, I think you might be pushing close to 2K.
And the brief history leaves out completely the nine year ownership of Bob Serva, who kept the brand alive by modernizing the tooling and production and started the 1911 business.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Never had anything like that happen to me, I don't think his concern has much validity because after you stop shooting all of the parts return to their original size.
I've never had a barrel nut undo itself, and if the barrel is properly gapped at .002 or greater, it won't grow enough to cause binding; well, maybe if you put 1000 rounds through it in a half hour or so.
I think the guy is loony; but that's just me.

That comment is pretty misleading. He speculated that the gun could lock up or barrel nut could come off, but never says either one happened during his "torture" test. Also, the materials are all steel, not different as claimed. I don't find that credible. Maybe he's just trying to hurt DW sales for some reason. Why continue to be a dealer for 25 years of such a bad product as he claim?
