I just picked up my first Dan Wesson (1979 15-2, 8" vented barrel) last weekend, and finally took it to the range tonight. Holy crap this gun is accurate, and a blast to shoot!
I put 50 rounds through it and noticed that the gun would occasionally not fire a round. Sometimes it would fire all 6 no problem, other times one would stick. I dry fired the gun (double action) and sometimes I'd pull the trigger and it would stick part of the way through the stroke, and the hammer would stick too.
Does anyone have idea what I should be looking at? I have a feeling something inside the gun is really dirty (the barrel and cylinder were pretty filthy when I got it), or maybe a spring is worn out?
Thanks all!

I should have been more specific earlier. I did clean the entire exterior of the gun, including where the barrel meets the cylinder (and I set the gap), so I dont think that is it. I also totally cleaned the inside of the barrel and each of the ports in the cylinder.
I will try dropping the cylinder and dry firing it to see if it makes a difference.
Where can I get a spring kit from?
Thanks all!

If you havent already, you may want to check out the 'Average Joe' thread under gunsmithing/gripmaking, and consider opening up and cleaning your revolver. EWKarms sells a very nice kit with all the springs in it, check him out on the right sidebar here. And keep us posted, lots of smart guys here to walk you through any issues.

If your describing the problem correctly it sure sounds like the cylinder is
dragging on barrel.
It might be springs or something else but I don't think so.

As blacktop suggested, it does look like the cylinder is making SLIGHT contact with the end of the barrel on a certain part of the cylinder. I guess I set the gap too close when I adjusted it. I have a tool coming from EWK, and a new gauge. I bet that'll fix it right up.
Thanks everyone!

When this happened to my 15-2 it turned out to be because I had somehow set the cylinder gap too narrow when I changed barrels.
