I was thinking about the switchable cylinders on the 15 the Shoot bought and it reminded me that I noticed a while ago that my two .357 8" barrels had a different amounts of threading on the frame ends of the barrels. One had more than the other.
Anyone know why? Both were purchased direct from the factory for a 357. One may have come from Palmer but I know the first one I got was from Monson. Can't remember for sure on the 2nd one though.

The barrels with shorter threads may be from a Porkchop, assuming it's not stainless. Here's my (unsubstantiated) findings...
