Picked up one of CZ made DW (used) for a very nice price. I'd like to streamline the heavy shroud from its blocky shape to something closer to Colt Python or S&W L frame underlug barrels. I googled and could not come up with any mention of milling a DW shroud.
Anyone you know of done this?

Eric @ EWK Arms will shape one of HIS shrouds to this configuration, he might be willing to do this for your shroud. Or just order a shroud from him
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

A decent local machine shop should be able to mill down your shroud. It would help if you had a sample shroud to show them what you want done. With a CNC milling center they could program the data from the pattern and mill down your new shroud. Just a thought.

Yep, the "VH" shroud is the signature look of the Dan Wesson's, and those looking for something lighter usually go with the light/standard shroud that has the step in the bottom lug.
Another reason there aren't many other designs out there is that there isn't much material to work with/remove if you are thinking of changing the profile of the shroud all the way through. Also keep in mind the transition between the shroud and the frame, and blending it in there also.

Can't find any shrouds on EWK site so I'll double check with him.I figured Google could dredge at least one or two examples but this must not be a popular modification.
Ive been looking for their shrouds as well. I found this link. Its marked copyright 2013.
