From time to time, the cylinder on my Dan will not close. It is a 41-V8. The very end tip of the extractor rod seems to catch on the hollowed out part of the under lug where it normally tucks away neatly. I've been able to work on it, pressing back and forth on the crane and cylinder and get it to close. Only seems to happen the first time I pull it out at the range. Once it gets going, all is well.
Related or not, I have also noticed light primer strikes when I fire it DA the next round after firing SA. I can fire it SA five times in a row, and if I don't cock the hammer on #6, and fire it DA instead, it won't go. Light primer strike. If I feed that same round back thru and fire it SA, it goes bang. Likewise, if I fire DA, DA, DA, everything goes bang like it should.
Has anybody seen this before? What was the cause?
