I am wanting to do a two tone grip with Koa and Ebony. The idea is to have the Ebony mimic a "frame". What I am wondering though is what might be the best way to go about accomplishing this task.
Should I cut the ebony to thickness of the grip tang?
Should I cut it thinner so the tang recesses into the Koa as well?
Should I glue it up first with epoxy and then drill it out?
Finally, is the Ebony going to be up to the task?
The grip will me shaped in a concealed carry size if that matters also.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. (I have the Koa already, and the ebony is easily gotten thanks to a local source.)

I strongly urge you to work with our Resident Grip Master, lbruce. He makes the best DW grips you can find, and I'm pretty sure he will share some wisdom with a new grip maker.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Ebony should be fine. If you cut the ebony the width of the frame that will be the easiest. If you cut the ebony the width of the tang will probably be closer to the look you are searching for. Either way I look forward to seeing your project. Good luck and ask away if I can be of help.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Just for the heck of it, here is a MORE than two tone LB:
I think there were two of these made, both for American Servicemen returning home from overseas.
