Thought I had everything fixed up. However, I just ran through a box of HPR 357mag jhps, doubletap 125gr gold dot loads, and american eagle fmjs and had almost non existent primer strikes that almost missed the primer entirely. I also had a few rounds that took about 10 strikes in single and double action in different cylinders that just wouldn't fire. Odd thing is 38 specials work just fine. Guess the guys at DW will be getting a revolver to fix when I get the funds.

Your above post made me wonder, fires well with 38s but poorly with 357s.
Just a wild thought but easy to check and eliminate. If your DW has fired enough 38s to build a carbon ring it may cause the 357s to set back just far enough to drag just enough to cause a timing issue. Do the 357s drop in the cylinder or are they snug going in? Just a crazy thought but can't hurt to check.

As far as the grip screw goes, I've placed washers on the grip screw until it just grabs and is snug with same results. I'd fire it without the grip but my bro had that same bad idea with a 18" shotgun that he couldn't wait to put a stock on. I have also had the mainspring and firing pin spring changed out and tightened the aligning ball screw that was sticking out a bit. just checked and 357s drop in nicely and smoothly. I'd appreciate anything else yall have because I'll either have to shelf it for 6-8 months or sell my favorite Cz82 to fix it :(.

Good morning
Check the rim thickness on the 38 Specials compared to the .357 cases. Should not be much difference. Swing cylinder out and laod with the caliber .357 ammo. With a flat steel straight edge see if any of those case heads are portruding out beyond the rear edge of the cylinder. Someone may have resurfaced the rear face of the ejector.
Also look at the breech face. May be evidence of battering which permits the cylinder to seat to far to the rear.

All rightie, I backed out the screw to get it as flush to the frame as possible, I also loosened up my gap a little. I feel like I should send it into a smith because of all the fine tuning I'm throwing out of whack. However the engineer thats trying to emerge in me wants to keep learning because its tiny things that I'm messin' up. Range time is tomorrow, hope all goes well!

Took the beast out to the range today shot some S&B 357mag fmj, buffalo bore's 180gr hard cast, and a cylinder full of gold dots. With the S&B I was getting light strikes that would not detonate in da but sa was just fine. The buffalo bore and gold dots would get nice heavy strikes that detonated in the same locations as the s&b light strike. I've noticed that HPR's 357 offering and S&B do not work well in da with my revolver but it is just fine with gold dots (125 and 158s), American Eagle, Buffalo Bore, and all 38 spl. What should I be looking for?
