Ok, this May end up being a no brainier but here goes....does any one have an idea where or if it is possible to get an unfluted cylinder for a .41 or a .44. All these years I didn't know this was an option on the big revolvers.

Thanks

Welcome aboard. The only place I know would be DW.     Shoot Keith an email.       keith@cz-usa.com.

I had Keith build me an unfluted cylinder for a .414 Supermag a few years back.  He will be your best bet.

Thanks fellows, Keith will get the nod. Appreciate it. Man, I love the looks of those cylinders on the big frame revolvers. Kinda reminds me of them big ole Peterbuilts with the long nose and them two small headlights. They just commanded the road, just like I think Dan Wessons command the revolver market. See ya!

In regards to special items like this, many years ago I worked with a contractor on renovating an old restaurant to a new concept, and as we were talking about some changes, Bob said "I can do whatever you need. All it takes is Time and Money. If you have the Money, I have the Time."

I'm sure DW will do the cylinder for you, I think the unfluted cylinder is beautiful.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Hey Supermagfan what did that unfluted cylinder run you if you don't mind me asking. I am thinking it would be a good addition to my 445 its getting a face lift in the form of a 6 inch comp barrel assembly and a trijicon RMR, and that unfluted cylinder would really round out the look.drool

They will almost certainly require factory fitting on a new cylinder.

Countryboy,

That was so long ago I don't even remember.  I would say it was likely around $200.00 + or -.  It was worth every penny at whatever it was because you don't see many of them.

The non-fluted cylinders really set the gun apart from all the others.

Thanks! I lucked into it.

That is the way it came from the factory. Compensated barrel, Leupold 2.5-8x scope, Burris base and rings, Hogue grip and no rear sight. The frame was never even cut for one.

AND, my favorite revolver cartridge also!

I've seen that picture many times and never noticed the lack of a relief cut for the rear sight.  hmm- pretty neat, Dean.  I'll trade you even-steven for a complete 41 with rear sight....

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
