First of all, Welcome to Dan Wesson Forum. Your best measure of value on this pistol is reflected in the prevailing bids/sales on auction sites like GunBroker/Auction Arms/etc.
If you are a seller, you might find a market for a Dan Wesson (desireable), Palmer (maybe a little less desireable, but only "maybe") .44 Magnum (very desireable).
If you are an owner and shooter, and it is a clean, tight, solid Dan Wesson, then it's worth a lot. Sorry this is subjective and not specific to $$$, depends on what you are looking for.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome Warnerwh,
I agree with Steve the value of DW's are very subjective. Normally if you can find a DW in a local shop I can get it for far less than what I will pay on GunBroker. Seems in my area folks don't see to value you them as highly as I do (which is good!).
Pictures would help us in determining a price and we also need to know whether or not the barrel is removable. If it is removable do you have the barrel wrench? Also having the original box would add a little for a collector.
In general a ballpark value would be $400 - $600.
Hope this helps?

Thanks for the welcomes. I know this gun well as it was mine and I sold it to my best friend several years ago. I'm trying to find a fair price for both of us. This gun does have interchangeable barrels and I still have the original tool that came with it. The gun is in excellent condition and even being a Palmer gun it had no issues. Barrel is a standard blue 6″. One thing I remember is the inside barrel is not quite as smooth as it could be. You wouldn't want to shoot lead bullets in it.
From what I can tell getting a Norwich gun for 5 something is very doable. Judging by past prices on GB it shows quite a variation in prices however there's .44's made in Monson or Norwich in the 500.00 range in at least very good condition. I have to figure a Palmer gun is a good 50+ dollars less value. I've been out of the loop for several years. If you guys could narrow the price down for me I'd appreciate it. Thanks
Thank you guys for the help. My friend is giving it back for 450.00 if you're curious. Even though it's a Palmer I know this gun and it already has a trigger job which I would have had to get on anything else.
Keep up the good work with the Dan Wessons. The best I can tell these are of the very best .44 magnums available and I can't think of any double action .44 I'd rather have. I guess I should be glad that most people don't have a clue.
