Wolff makes variable rate recoil springs for the model 1911. They start their travel with fairly light resistance and build as the slide continues its rearward travel. This is accomplished by starting with the spring coils comparitively far apart, and progressively getting closer towards the back of the spring or the end of the springs compression if you prefer.
So, with that lead in my question would be if something like that would be feasible/workable for a DW hammer spring.
My thinking is that if the spring would have close coils at the end nearest to the hammer and progressively getting wider in distance between the coils, it could conceivably reduce or possibly eliminate the "stacking" that is felt as the trigger is pulled. Just tossing this out there for discussion.
Not sure if this has been proposed in the past of not. Anyhow, I'd appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
