I called Shawn Sastri at CZ last month and he got me a 4"vh .44, and a 2.5"vh .44 for a total price with delivery of $496.
i know it's a bit pricey for aftermarket stuff, but the only other options are the many worn out barrel assemblies on Ebay and Gunbroker.

Strange place for you to post this comment, but Shawn works in Spare Parts at the Dan Wesson factory in Norwich, so those BA's you bought are not aftermarket, they are original genuine parts.

I finally got my notification from c-z about new barrel assemblies. I ordered a 2 1/2 in blue 357. All that's left now is the wait. I plan on using it on this, it has not been shot very much.HDHIC aka cliff
Nice! Also some advice for you and others reading/watching this thread, is don't pay attention to the inventory on the DW/CZ website. I ordered a stainless 2.5" 357 and 44 mag barrel (both of which were out of stock online) by calling Shawn at DW, and I had the barrels at my house within a couple weeks.
What Stinger said!! Norwalk BA's are factory. I have bought dozens of BAs off ebay. Some have minor cosmetic issues. None of the barrels have been " worn out". DW barrel and cylinder steel is extremely strong. Many have been as new. They are currently pricier than current factory issue but the value is reflected in the value of the gun as it was original.

In all fairness I've only gotten one bad 8" ported barrel from Ebay that had been deeply notched on top (on purpose) with a cutter at some point. Not enough to cut into the barrel, but obviously done to render it useless. the inside showed extensive wear that didn't appear in the pics..Got my $70 back!

That "ugly" grip is probably original to that gun. I had one just like it in a very early 15-2 pac that was made just before the upgrade to the "Changeable" front sights. If there is no set screw in the front of your shroud, then you have one of the early 15-2's. Mine had the Standard shroud like yours.
Just a suggestion - Get some Kroil or other lubricant into the rear sight to keep it from rusting.
The grip in question is the first version of target grip that Dan Wesson used for the model 11 and 12. They were offered with porkchop models 14 and 15 too. Perhaps they were still available for the early 15-2s post serial number 50,000. That would have been late 74 or early 1975.
Even though they are quite ugly they are strangely comfortable in the hand.
