I'm new to the group. Started to do some research on what is wrong and found this group. My DW (15-2 I think) was hanging up every couple of trigger pulls. I pulled the plate off to inspect and clean and now it is worse. It will either operate correctly for two or three trigger pulls or will not allow trigger to be operated. Most of the time the cylinder does not turn at all. Help please?

Welcome cop4hire to the forum. Sorry you're here cause of a problem. Sometimes the problem is the barrel / cylinder gap is too tight and the cylinder hits the barrel. When you set the gap check each chamber and set the clearance on the tightest chamber.
Hope this is your fix and if you have time are always welcome. Some other members will certainly give you their ideas as I don't know what your taking off the side plate would have done too make the problem worse unless something got out of sorts in there.

I was gonna guess that it's innards need a good scrubbing, but it sounds like you did that. In addition to the comments posted above, make sure the action parts are positioned the way they should be. Here's a very helpful collection of pics that Shoot put together a while back...

Thanks for the help. The cylinder has no problem spinning at half cock so I dont think there is a hangup there. I've gone to the page sited last night before posting. It did help giving me an idea of what I'm dealing with.
I will have to go back again and really studdy the pictures to see if I can find what is out of place. Also, I used that page to help me disassemble the weapon. The only problem I ran into there was the "half moon clip" that holds the cylinder assembly in place. I could not figure out how to remove it.
Thanks again for responding.

I had a cylinder binding problem. It ended up being a loose crane.
What happened was the cylinder would bind up with the top strap of the frame.
Take your cylinder and push it up and see if you can get it to contact the top strap of the frame. Aslo look at the cylinder when you pull the trigger. Is there a gap between the cylinder and frame?
With the action open, can you wiggle the crane back and forth?
I had Dan Wesson Service fix my problem. It took two time for them to fix it but they did me right the second time.

I've found it easiest to use a small magnet (mine is on the end of a small screwdriver handle) to grab it with. Push the crane rearward, to relieve pressure on the front of the clip & the magnet usually pluck it out easily.
I don't see anything wrong or worn in your pics that would cause a problem. Maybe some of these other guys can spot something I'm missing.

for trying. I contacted CZ and they are sending me a tech drawing so I can go
over it looking for the problem. They gave me info to send them the weapon if I
cant fix it. They seem to be very helpful. Has anyone sent their piece to them
for repair?

My apologies lbruce,
I figured out what you were referring too. As a matter of fact I think this may be the problem. The spring was not in the slot. I placed it back into the slot and tried again and it worked for one trigger pull. When I opened it back up I found the spring had popped back out of the slot. I repeated this 3 or 4 times and the trigger return spring will not stay in the slot.

Disregard my last post......
You ever have one of those moments when I light bulb goes off in your head?
I fixed it! When lbruce said something about a slot I started looking at the hand spring and noticed that it was not connected to anything. Then the light came on.. "Of course" It can only go back together one way and it all fit into place. Thanks everyone for your help.
I've never had so much trouble on a simple dis-assembly of a pistol. I guess I am getting old.

Don't feel bad; the 1st time I took my 357SM trigger assembly apart, I couldn't get it back together to save my life and I had owned DW's for over 20 years by the time I got my SM, but they were all model 15's and I had done all the work on them. I took it to a local gunsmith that kept it for 2 weeks and handed it back and told me to send it to the maker. I finally, by trial and error(a lot of error) and talking to the DW smith, got it back together.
