Well....the gun showed up today and it is kind of....almost...sort of ..what I was supposed to get...Cool...

It was advertised as a 357 revolver with an extra 38 spcl cylinder....here's what I got...

As you can clearly see, what I received is a MINT condition 709 with an extra .357 cylinder Drool...  The box is not original to the gun either, but I don't care... The Zebras are one of the better sets I've seen.  So, in the grand scheme of life, I think I came out ahead on this one--I didn't have a 709, and now I have a really nice one.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

I will have to agree with LB on this one!  To be honest with you I'm not sure I've even seen a 709 before...  You're right those zebra's are outstanding!

Always nice to be pleasantly surprised on a deal. Big Grin

Congrats on a fine purchase occasion

The serial number on my Action Cup is only about 100 units away...38S00127x.  This would put your 709 right near the end of Monson production.

Man I have a unfired NIB 686-8 5″ unfluted cylinder I would probably trade for a nice 715 VH4 with spare 38 cylinder or a nice blued 22 LR with spare WMR in 4' barrel.  I have 722 like that, it's the cats meow. DWF Sign
