Last minute decision to forsake the yard, and leaves in favor to a marathon run through a local gun show.  Just me and my daughter, everyone else in the house was doing something else.  My typical performance at a gun show is to hurry through the show checking out all the items of interest, make note and then go back and negotiate once all the items are noted.  On my first row I found a United Sporting Arms 41 Mag in what appeared to be great condition.  I honestly was not too worried because so few people know what they are anyway.  I checked it out put it back and moved on, it was tagged for $450.00.

We went through the show and only found three Dan Wessons in the whole show.  (2) 357's blued and (1) 22 blued, all over priced and in less than stellar condition.  No interest in them.  We went back to the US Arms and negotiated the gun to be $400.00 all inclusive of transfer and taxes.  Made the deal and went home with a few ammo bargains too.  Back home to the leaves, yard, work, Confused

Well I took a few pics too....

Moral of the story today was, keep your priorities in correct order, Leaves and yards never come ahead of guns.  The daughter and I had a great time together as well.

Congratulations on your new acquisition and especially for having a daughter who takes interest in your firearm hobby.

I have a daughter that loves to shoot all day long, but she would never attend a gun show with me.  Rather odd come to think of it.

OK, now I see where that came from...read the other thread first. Man, what a gem in my favorite cartridge. I think you need to send it to me for a thorough range evaluation. Shouldn't take longer than a few years.

Sounds like an excellent day all around!  Thanks for sharing!

P.S. Awesome picture! I would like to see some Dan's with that background for the 2011 Calendar.  Maybe next year we do a calendar for Single Actions as well.

I don't know about that.  This is a DW site and we didn't get a huge amount of interest in a DW calendar.  Only 20 or 21 people even bothered to vote on the images.

Good point, I'm honestly surprised we didn't have more interest in these DW calendars. Hopefully next year we see a whole lot more interest.

Well, the picture thread was over in the projects forum and the vote was over in polls, don't know how many mebers actually look at those forums.  I pretty much only pay attention to the revolver forum myself.

Sorry for the hijack.  Did we actually decide to go through with the calendar?

Yes we did. There is a thread here somewhere telling Jody how many calenders you want.

To round out the thread, I took the new to me 41 mag to the range yesterday and it shot as good is it looked.  I only had thirty rounds of ammo loaded in the entire stash so I used it all.  It grouped very well, this sights adjusted very easily and predictably.  Shot the last 5 rounds one hand hold style, with the smoot wood grips it rolls back in your hand pretty much between shots mostly do to the nature of a single action grip, but very manageable.  Overall, this is one revolver that quickly earned a spot toward the top of my list of favorites.  It did not even whack me on the foreheadLaugh

IHMSA the 41 cal. is my favorite also.  It just does everything well and manageably at the same time.
