As I decipher the model FB715-4C a fixed barrel stainless 357 mag with a 4" compensated barrel. Yes I would say it is fairly rare and $550 is probably a fair to good price pending condition.

Fixed barrels are not that common, I picked one up last year on Gunbroker for 500.00 so I think it's a fair price.

There was one listed on Gunbroker for a few months that brought 900.00+ which I thought was to high priced.

Well, a picture would help. Sellers will sometimes play games with DW Model names.

An FB715-4C would be

Palmer, MA

Stainless

.357 Magnum

Top slotted (3 slots, I think)

No removable barrel nut

A barrel length of 4" from forcing cone to muzzle

The shroud will be longer than the barrel by about 3/4-1"

Rare? Certainly not very common.

$550? If it's worth that to you, then it's the right price. It's a reasonable price, IMHO

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

As the guys said fixed barrel models are not too common, and if it is truly compensated that is even more uncommon. Unusual enough that it's hard to put a market value on. In my opinion if it really is compensated, if it is in overall very good condition then I would say that is a fair price.

One thing for sure, if you pass it up you will probably never see another one. I say buy now and post us some pics!

+1 on the same grips, the grip tang should be square.

FB's are more rare than the rest of the removable barrel DW family, and a compensated FB gun is probably easily twice as rare as that. Do the math.wink

All of the compensated FB guns I have seen thus far have sported two comp slots, whereas the removable barrel guns have three. This is what the Comp slots on a FB gun should look like (blued or stainless). Note the knurled removable insert at the end.

That particular gun is a .41 Mag large frame gun, most FB's have a heavy lug barrel like this...

IMO, for the price, I wouldn't let that baby slip through my fingers...but that's me.laugh I hope you land it & show us somecool-pics
