Yes, I know Steve quoted the Dead earlier this week, but you gotta get this.
I knew we were going to finally get to the range this week and get a chance to shoot my new .357SM.
Monday — Prep for the range. Set the headspace on the .357SM way too tight.
Tuesday — Bought a 738P on GB. Made quick trip to the Gun Shop to do paperwork.
Wednesday — We went to the range. Had to hand-turn the cylinder on the SM because, though I brought the tool, I forgot the gauge.
Thursday — Reset the gap and put the gauge in the range-bag.
Friday — We went back to the range and picked up the Li'l Dan. Shot both it and the .357SM which performed flawlessly with the correct gap. Came out of the range and this is what happened to my car while we were shooting.
We went to Cabela's and bought some stuff. Then, 10 minutes before we were going to watch the gun -control show hosted by that woman with an IQ of 12, ComEd decided that we needed a break from the use of electricity. So we missed the show. Who knows, maybe the guys at ComED ar NRA members?
At least the owner of the building accepted responsibility for the damage to the car and will be paying for the repair. There's a long, boring story behind that.

Actually the damage was don by one of those mini-busses built on a Ford 350 chassis.
Yes, it is good that they accepted responsibility, not many people do these days.
Yes, it was good range time; twice in one week, no less. The .357SM is a real puppy to shoot and the Li'l Dan is a lot of fun though both of us found it to shoot high and left. We'll see how it does after a good cleaning and correct headspace setting.

I really like that little gun, which surprises me because I've always been a big gun person. In the bottom of the box, under the foam I found the original owners manual with the warranty card still attached. It doesn't look like it's ever been touched.
BTW -- in the box, in it's own little slot in the foam was a large metal disk about the size of a quarter, with 2 little prongs on one part of the edge. Does anyone know what this is for?
Also, are there any wooden grips available for this gun?

It sounds like the key for a screw-on plastic trigger lock. I can get a pic of one for you tonight, if you want.
