I used to hunt in Potter County by Ole Bull Park. Our camp was where the guy used to call the deer down off the mountain with a dog whistle and feed them. He had a nice little tourist business selling stale bread to people who would stop and pay to feed wild deer. "Slim" is all I ever knew him by. Half way between Ole Bull and Cross Fork on Kettle Creek. Haven't hunted in "Gods Country" in a long time, since the other members forced the sale of the camp back in the early '90s.
Can't wait to see the , I'd love to have a gun such as yours.
I'll be watching and maybe...$$?

Yes indeed "God's Country". Cross fork, that seems familiar, used to hunt 'yotes a lot up on top at Twin Sisters Trail near Elk Lick. LEEK hunt preserve for Wounded Warriors is near Oswayo, just North of Caudersport. I sure do miss them 3 day canoe trips on the West Branch and the Sinimahoning, Karthus, Renovo....On Eastern end of the state I go up on Red Rock, South Mountain and such in my wanderings.
I'll try to get the pics and ad up tonight....Getting late. At least tomorrow looks better, I don't have to fix anyone's car in the 30 degree weather.

I'll be out to the LEEK preserve, Just North of Oswayo, near the trout hatchery, in May 11-13. I am taking an Army Guntruck there for a static display during their (LEEK's) annual open house. Yep, It's during the spring turkey season.
Small world 'eh?
My SuperDan is dirty and will need some scrubbing before her final photo shoot. So looks like my listing will be up tomorrow for sure.

Wife saw me fiddling with the Dan and asked what I was doing, Being it is flintlock season and all. I told her of my plans and she suggested (told) me not to sell. And that I could use $ from our general funds to buy a new pistol. And that eventually I'll be able to use the SuperMag again.
Sorry if'in I teased anyone....ha ha. guess I got really spun up after the pizza place incident. I am always very aware of my surroundings, just don't wanna go paranoid. The .38 revolver has started going with me everywhere again.
Glad to know it won't be hard to sell some DW iron if the need be. And the very welcoming and helpful folks at .

I don't blame you for keeping that gun, I don't think I could part with any of my Dans. As for a carry piece with some punch, have you considered the new Sig Sauer P250? Its a polymer frame like the Glock, but its totally modular, comes in three frame sizes, sub compact, compact and full size. In the sub and compact sizes, you can get 9mm, 40S&W and 357 Sig, all can be changed between guns by just removing the slide and putting on the one you want and the correct magazine. In the full size, you can get the above calibers as well as 45 ACP. The neat part is you can have all four with only one gun as the "guts" of the gun can be moved between frames with no tools in literally seconds. I'm seriously considering this as a carry gun. You can change calibers to meet your threat level or just plink with 9mm and carry 357 Sig. I think there are 64 possible combinations possible with the various calibers, grips and frame sizes. Has night sites, and comes in either black nitron coated or stainless slides. I like the black, less flashy. Light weight too. I handled a few at the gun show a few weeks back and I liked it. Its not a DW but it doesn't cost as much as one either. Prices at the show were upper $300s, with one caliber and grip. A "two fer" pack with two grips of what ever size you want and two calibers was about $500.
Have a happy new year!

Thanks Scoprio, I'll look into that. I have read up on the 250 before, just never fiddled with one yet. Price is attractive, Sig is an awesome manufacturer, the caliber interchangeability does nothing for me. Case of 115 ball for training/target and a box or two of Hornandy Zombie ammo for carry. Some people knock the 9...although there may be more powerful rounds out there...the 9 works, is fast, accurate, and allows for great follow ups. I am a capable shot (usually...sometimes?)even under stress and hollow points of any caliber hurt! A 9 may also lessen the chance of pass through with unwanted collateral damage (lawsuit).
You are right about parting with the Dan, I may just shoot the .44 mags in it for a while.
