You will get many opiniones but here is just one. For a quick clean /wipe down I use WD40. It doesn't lubricate much as it evaporates quickly but it is a great cleaner. I clean with the WD40 and lube with any reputable gun oil. Just my two cents

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.
I have always used whatever Lubrication product I was using at the time, usually Tri-flow or Breakfree.
After seeing some very convincing test results, I have now begun to use Eezox. Some people really dislike the smell, but it doesn't bother me.
The link below is not the best, but the results are very similar to the test that pushed me over the edge.

Well now, this all depends on the gun, really...and whether we're talking about keeping it running well, or looking it's photogenic best. Wipe 'em down, or make 'em shine?
I usually give my guns a decent application of lube, let 'em dry & wipe 'em down. Then they get the slick stuff. Many times, most lubes simply end up with an oily sheen to the outer surface. But first, are we talking about wheel guns or brass flingers? Good lube is important, but if you're wanting some type of result, then I'm still looking for something compatible with my blued brass flinger. Where polish is concerned with my wheel guns (blued especially), I have found that a hearty application of the following mystery wax (slick stuff) does wonders to a blued gun's finish…
This particular can is at least 10 years old, probably closer to 15…dang, it may even be 20. Yet it still smells great & lays on like no other. Your purchase experience may net an alternate result in the end, this I cannot control. Hopefully the product inside has not changed much, but as with most other things in this decade, I wouldn't bet any serious money on it still being the same. Carnuba isn't grown in China today, is it?? Or is it?
Anyway…
Carnuba wax & DW bluing definitely work well with each other. Here's a couple examples…and my crappy pics still do no justice to what the naked eye sees. The "liquid gloss" on these two is truly something to witness firsthand.
Stainless gets a whole 'nuther treatment…but that's another story, now isn't it?.

Sure, Dave!
Shortly after I joined the we were talking about a shiny DW on GB & I recall commenting that it would probably do well just because of how glossy it looked. Steve said something along the lines of "the seller probably waxed the gun", and I laughed. Then I got thinking about it...WAX? Hey, I should see if it works!
