I bought a 9.75” blued barrel for .357 Maximum, barrel only.  What length large frame shroud do I need?  Can’t be 10” cuz the barrel isn’t 10”, so I’m guessing 8”?  Or is there some other “in between” length I’ve never heard about yet?  This is for the 740-V6 I recently bought (and have not received yet).

This is just a guess, but I bet it is a 9" shroud. I think there is about 1/2 inch of the barrel taken up when it goes into the frame, and another 1/4 for the nut. I might be wrong though.

This would be a 10" Shroud. It's called 10" even though it is not a full ten inches long. The factory did not make anything between an 8" and a 10" barrel assembly.

Boy I wouldn’t have guessed that!  Hopefully I can get Bob to make me a stainless 10”.

The exception of sorts would be an eight inch barrel with a 11/2" compensator. That would mean a shroud of 9 inches total?
