My truck gun condition Model 14(?)  differs from the pic I saw here today.

4"

Porkchop shroud

Monson manufacture

Dove tail grove and windage adjustable rear sight.  This differed from what I saw listed below, where the rear sight was merely a groove cut i the topstrap for a rear sight.

Fishing, hunting  outdoors, the rest with th exception of family time is just frittering ones life away

I believe, a model 14 has the porkchop barrel shroud, and a dovetailed rear sight. A 14-1 has the porkchop shroud and just a grooved topstrap for a rear sight. A 14-2 has the newer barrel shrouds without porkchop extension, and grooved topstrap like 14-1. I think the first model 14s had the larger cylinder release button also. One of our pork experts will be along to correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, and we love cool-pics here

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I think the above is correct!   Before the 14 was the D11, sister to the W12 with exposed nut!

From what you're describing, your gun should look like this. This is a "pre dash" model 14.
