Here's a link: http://www.dwcollectors.org/history. To some history that a long time member Steve CT wrote. May give you a little insight and the rest well just start reading the forums. We are just trying to piece together all the info we can here, since the Dan Wesson Arms has been gone for many years.
you may have to copy and paste the link. I am having trouble getting my copies to be hyperlinks.

I am trying to figure out the date of manufacture for, as far as I can tell, a Model 715 .357 6" bbl Monson made s/n 2350xx. No box nor tools, I've had this at least 20 years. Also any idea for ball park value, it has a couple of scratches/scuff marks, in good or better shape. Any and all help gratefully appreciated and thanked in advance.
Welcome to the forum. From the serial# I would guess 1979 or 80. Also, it is probably a model 15-2 if it has adjustable rear sights or a14-2 if fixed sights. 715 is a stainless gun. I am surmising yours is blue. Pictures would help with value. I am going to let others chime in.

I'm not sure this is a 715 (stainless). There is no evidence in the Serial Number Registry of any 715 that does not lead with either "SDO" or "357S". That serial number is clearly a 15-2, and I don't see a frame mounted overtravel screw, it sort of looks like there is an overtravel screw in the trigger. There appears to be a bit of corrosion on the frame above the cylinder.
Good chance this is a 15-2 that has had a refinish, possibly something like Armolloy.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I to thought I had a rare stainless gun , a 714 , that predated all known stainless guns. Alas, it is hard chrome. Absolutely beautiful though. A joy to clean. And virtually impervious to wear. You should be very proud of your gun. It is a beauty. Nice grip too!
The one drawback is matching other shrouds. I guess you will need another or two.

If it is an 11 or a 14 it will have the porkchop barrel. Meaning it has like a dogleg down the front of the frame. A -2 model the barrel is just straight into the frame. A picture will help us help you or even the serial #.

...And a model 11 will have the barrel nut on the outside of the barrel, a 14 will have a recessed nut. There are also two "porkchop" 14's, one has a dovetailed rear-sight (can correct left-right POA), and the slightly later ones don't have anything adjustable in the rear sight and are referred to as model 14-1. And both of these have different heights for the front sight (dovetailed version slightly higher). Fun, eh?
Yeah, pics would be the best LOL.
Welcome!

It won't let me post pictures from my phone
i did include the serial number , here It is again : 97844
I'm going to assume the barrel nut is recessed. The threading sticks out a bit but the nut itself is flush with the barrel.
If only my lap top worked to post my pictures.
