How are new folks identifying their model since none of the pics work on page 1?
Sorry- I removed the links to the now defunct domain he used. Post up a pic and description. You can probably tell by reading the descriptions on the 1st page though. Good to have you on the DWF.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

It is not stainless. It was made several years before stainless according to the serial number. It is a 15-2 made about 1977. You need a barrel tool to take it apart. Great gun to learn on.
According to Dan Wesson CS it’s a 715 but I don’t think they know to be honest. I provided the serial number as well as a picture. It has a 2.5” barrel.

I am new here, I was gifted from my grandfather a .357 Dan Wesson. I have a the SN# 197820 but if someone can tell me more about this or point me in the right direction that would be great. I don't have a box, it just given to me in a zip up case, any help would be great. Thank you for your time

Sounds expired; might be dangerous. If you send it to me, I’ll take care of it for you.
…obviously that is a very poor attempt at silly humor.

My condolences on your father’s passing. He’s bequeathed to you one fine and valuable firearm, and it looks like it is in good condition.
Others well versed in the production history will be able to tell you much more about it (I am more of a 1911 guy). A picture of the rollmark on the frame, where it was made, etc. could also help.
One can't panic buy skill.
