Nice looking Dan, yes it is a 745! Prices are tough to say as it depends on area and buyers! Blue book gives a starting place (this is somewhat miss leading), as a buyer it is a good place to start. Are you looking to sell this one? What extras? box, wrench, paper work, and so on?

Ahh, the Sentinel MK III (not sentinal), one of High Standard's coolest shooters in my biased opinion.
Scorpio is darn close, the Sentinel MK III is High Standard's version of Dan Wesson's model 15-1 Porkchop. These were made for a scant 3 years, so owning one these days is an honor & a true luck-of-the-draw.
Here's mine...
Would love to see yours.

Serial # falls in the 1984 era, your right on that. The two slots in the
top of the shroud are the "power ports" you will have to look at the
inside barrel to see if the barrel itself is ported , some were and some
were not but almost all 44 shrouds were power ported.
Without pictures or more detail it will be hard to tell if you have
a rare 44 but there are alot of common 44 models floating around.
These are the two I have, does it look anything like these ?

Hey everyone! Recently, my father's Dan Wesson was passed down to me and I have no information on the revolver besides what's stamped on it. (".357 MAGNUM CTG" "MONSON, MASS" and the serial number is 3731xx) From what I've learned in this thread, I think it is a model 15-2. Can anyone help me determine what I have? (such as model, year it was manufactured, and any other useful info would be awesome!) I am new to guns / gun ownership and would appreciate any help that is offered.
Thanks and hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to the wonderful world of DWF. You are the proud owner of a model 15-2 VH8. Born in the neighborhood of 1986.LB
Thanks LB! Went out to shoot it today for the first time and unfortunately the shooting range was overcrowded with hunters preparing for deer season. Got plenty of .357 ammo and also picked up some .38 special ammo at a black friday sale today.
Its ok to use .38 special, am I correct? Also, I have a question about your date estimate. According to the wikipedia website, the factory moved from Monson to Palmer in 1983. Is this true? (I know that you can't believe everything you read on that site!) My father passed away 4 years ago so I can't ask him when/where he got it and we can't find any documentation either... Once again, I appreciate your help!

The company reorganized in 1983, moved to Palmer in 1992
http://dwcollectors.org/history
.38 Spl is fine to shoot, but clean chambers very thoroughly, otherwise a carbon ring builds up that makes it difficult to impossible to chamber .357 mag. This problem can be corrected, but it's a fair amount of scrubbing to do so.
Welcome to DWF.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Hello all....I'm new to 's and this forum. I just completed a trade for a couple of 's. I think the "pistol pac" is a model 15-2, made in approximately late 70's or early 80's, from what I have gathered reading in this forum. It has the 2.5", 4", 6" & 8" barrels, the frame, only the rounded butt grip, barrel wrench, feeler gauge and 3 additional front sights. The other model is the model 44, supposedly made in 1978. It came with the barrel wrench and feeler gauge and the original box. I picked both of these up, in trade, for about $950 value, I think it was a pretty fare trade for both guns, but I'm not sure. The .357 pistol pac appears to have never been shot, while there is very, very, very, little wear on the .44, and I know that it has been shot some. I don't have any pictures to post, as I'm technically challenged.

1978 is pretty unlikely for that Model 44, they were not introduced until late 1980.
Whenever I feel technically challenged, I find a kid to help me out.

Hi everyone, new here. Trying to gather some information on the Wesson I have. From what i've read, it is a 732(?). This is what I have:
.32 MAG CTG
Dan Wesson Arms
Monson, MASS
32M
It is stainless, with a 6" barrel. Wooden grip w/ adjustable sights. 6-shot. Any information and value and "birthdate" would be cool. Thanks

732 for sure; can't say whether it's a vent or vent heavy (lug) 6" until you post a cool pic...
value is what someone would pay, but the Gun Digest Standard Catalog places it at ~$475-525
Best Regards,
Ron

Hello, new guy here with a question. I have a model 715-6VH with the original packaging (styrofoam box and cardboard sleeve, booklet, barrel tool and gap gage and even the original receipt) that I got brand new in about 1986 from my dad. I was curious what it was worth as it is and how much I could expect to pay if I wanted to build a pistol pac for it. It did not come as that originally. It is also a monsoon MA edition. Probably has less than 500 rounds through it. No interest in selling, value is really more for my own info. .
See pic below:
Thanks!

Value can depend on your area, here in OH. for example I would say $400 to $450 range.
The Gun-broker auction seem to bring more on average but not always. I would say
between Internet and national averages some where around $500 to $600.
The shouds and barrels for the VH stainless are not a common everyday thing, so
price may depend on how much of a hurry you are in, I've seen the barrel assembles run
from $150 to over $300. To reap the joy of lower prices you may very well spend a
year or two or maybe more.
Then again, time you figure in the case, belt buckle, extra sights, wrench and all
the other stuff it takes to make a truly complete pack it maybe more cost wise to
just wait for an original complete pack to come along. Again this price will vary
depending on region and whether you purchase local or Internet and can vary
between $1100 to $1500.
I passed up a complete 715 at a small show for $900 a little over a year ago because
I wanted the vent heavy like yours and it was the standard vented model. Yes, I'm still
kicking myself for that decision.
Good luck with your choice.

The advantages are, you don't have to shell out a grand or more at one buy, and
building your own is like a journey, each time you fit another piece of the puzzle you
will get a great feeling of accomplishment. That is not something you can buy
with a completed pack.
