That's a model 15, nickname 'porkchop', and those are Pachmayr Gripper grips. If you get it and don't like the grips, they usually fetch a nice price on Ebay.
If it is local and you don't have to pay shipping etc I would guess that isn't a bad price, as long as it is mechanically sound. I am sure some other more experienced members can give you a better idea.
Ya can always get a nice pair of LB custom grips made for it. Or if you get it, I'll trade you a rubber Hogue Monogrip for the Pachmayr, I have 2 of them.

Ah, I learned something again today. I wonder why they stopped stamping the model designations on the revolvers early on? Sure would've made it easier for us to tell them apart today.

I agree, I would like to know the answer to that one, too. I can't find a pic tonight, but I believe Norwich fixed that problem by etching the model # under the crane. I've seen that on a few GB guns & assume it's the same for any Norwich gun. Maybe someone could chime in here with a yes/no vote on that thought?
Samandglove, although I have yet to see any official literature stating that there is indeed a 15-1 model, I'm of the same opinion as Steve. The gun pictured is represents the most "up to date" refinements to the DW model 15 thus far, and other then the Porkchop shroud, it was pretty much a 15-2 under the skin.
That gun has the following updates already in place, that are used in the 15-2; mushroomed ejector rod, updated cylinder latch lever, flush mounted barrel nut & updated action. The 15-1 also has the (this model only) "Ruger style" rear sight. IMO, this is gun represents one of the major transition points in DW's history...this gun wasn't offered in the catalog for long, maybe only a few months. Then 15-2 sprang onto the scene shortly afterward.
Do I think the asking price is right? Yes I do, and that's even considering the bluing loss at the end of the shroud (character marks) & those ugly 'ol Goodyears... I believe those shipped with wood grips sans medallions. However, try to hit him at $300 just because.
Let us know how you make out...

I'm actually going to pass on this gun, even though I should buy it. I'm actually trying to downsize my revolvers at the moment.
I think there is room to negotiate down on this 15-1 if anyone is interested. I don't think the seller/dealer knows what it is, as it is being incorrectly marketed as a non-existent model number. The gun is in Mass. and if anyone wants info on it just let me know.
Thanks,
Ash
