Ok, ok here's what's inside the box
I find it interesting that they show a Norwich from the Serva years on the Owner's manual.
Also gives me hope for the future seeing .22 on the back (CZ that's a hint) wish it would've come with that grip even though I prefer the hogue for shooting
Well that's what's in the box.

I'll say one thing, if I didn't know this was a new CZ/DW, from that angle it could be almost any 715. That means that they were true to the origional Dan Wesson design and style. I was hoping it wouldn't be some radically changed Dan.

I really like the angled profile on the top of the shroud, very sharp looking.
I wonder if that will work with the clamp on mounts.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Continuing on after Photobucket finished arguing with me.
A comparison of old & new shrouds
from the side
further back notice the new rear sight and how tall it is in comparison
Ok so they say that the new 715 will accept the older shrouds, it does but it kinda looks funny.
Sideplate fit
another angle
alright let's see the action
how's the machining in it? let's see
Side plate
trigger (DA cam) excuse my dirty fingers
trigger (SA cocking notch)
So how's it shoot? Well here's the first six rounds through it @ 15ish yds. rested

Alright here are my thoughts on the NEW 715. It is a very good shooting gun that first group was not a fluke, it came with a relatively good trigger. They could've done better in my opinion but for most people it is satisfactory SA about 4lbs but it broke fairly cleanly (BTW it has developed creep now) DA roughly 10+, it does stack badly that hasn't changed. The chambers are clean and smooth, no rings like some Monson & Palmer guns. The cylinder face is near perfectly machined. I really like that they matched up the lines between the shroud and frame.
My only real negatives are in finish work. The shroud is near perfectly polished, however the frame does have tool marks left in multiple spots. Just behind the flared piece on the sideplate are chatter marks that follow that curve, if you look below that the cylinder stop on the side of the sideplate has a deep gouge just below it. (I couldn't get a picture of the chatter but did find one on the internet) On the right side of the gun again behind that flared piece behind the cylinder there are what looks like three arcs where the buffing wheel dug in (look at the second picture and you can see it). Also, what I noticed almost immediately was that the flutes on the cylinder were left untouched.
My final thoughts are it is a well built gun with parts that are fit quite well, DW could've done much better on polishing. For more than $1100 I should be getting a much better finished gun than what I have, it's sad to see that after owning one of their 1911's and seeing the attention to detail that they've showed in that. I know they have been out of revolvers for five or six years but they need to improve or they won't be selling them for very long and in the process tarnishing the name that they have. I am in the process of making contact with CZ/DW to see if they will fix my issues and will keep you posted on what happens.

here is the picture of the chatter on the sideplate see the flared piece (so it's not an isolated incident)
