I just got a DW 357. CTG.  its got a "heavey underlug" to the best of my knowledge

i saw a picture of a DW revolver online and it had  somthing i can only describe as a super duper heavy underlug based on my complete lack of knowledge on DW and revolvers in general.

http://www.deactivated-guns.co.uk/images/Dan%20Wesson/dan_wesson-2.jpg

thats a picture of the one im talking about, i would love to buy a barrle similar to that, is it possible?

if i posted a picture of mine would you be able to tell me more?

Thanks-Kevin

Hi kevinA, Welcome

That looks like a custom shroud for PPC competition. Sometimes you see one on the auctions, but I've only seen them as complete guns. I have no idea who made them, or where you could find one. Perhaps one of the others here can help...I know someone here has a similar Dan Wesson.

One of our members has one of these

https://www.danwessonforum.com/?page_id=3/members-collections/wayne-delacks-collection

They are pretty rare, and my guess is that chances of finding just the barrel is pretty slim. You probably have a Heavy (H) or Vent Heavy (VH) barrel.

On the subject of pictures

Post Pics, so bring them on

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the DWF KevinA.

You are in the right place!  The shroud is illustrated in the member's collections that SteveCT linked above.

It is an "Action Cup" model and the chances of finding just a shroud are somewhere between slim and none.

That's not to say that DW in Norwich, NY wouldn't make you one if you asked (& ponied up...).  Give Genny a call, she'll probably refer you to Keith.  There is a  link on the right side of the forum page.

BTW, that's a mighty fine looking 15-2VH you've got there.  Any box or accessories with that bad boy?  If so, take a pic of the whole shebang.

Glad to have you as a member!

I know this post is old but since the pictures are already here, i figured i would ask, where can i find speedloaders that fit? i saw some with very vauge titles like "for *gun *gun* gun* dan wesson 357".

http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=768665

will that work or do i need somthing more specific?

I found one that I believe is that same brand, at a local feed & tack store. I'll look at it when I get home tonight & see if there's any numbers on it.

I have a ton of the HKS speedloaders.  IIRC, the number 10 is for the DW 357.

HKS lists that as a 10A, mine are actually marked 10, as SHOOT noted

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The number is stamped on the aluminum knob on the speed loader. Click the pic in that Cheaper than Dirt link & you'll see where the number is stamped.

Looks like that Shooter's Catalog link has 'em cheapest...that's $3 less than I paid.Smile
