I'm looking for the thickness of the extractor (minus the dogs on the back) not including the shaft.

Mine measures 0.197" but the face appears to have been ground down... probably to compensate for the barrel that was inserted to far...  oy!

Thanks!

Hold on I'll check it for you.  At the points I'm getting .1105 - .1115.  At the center I'm getting .206.

Thanks, Harly!  Yep, some 'Bubba' gnawed on mine.

My weekend project perhaps...

I used V-Carve Pro.  It's a 2.5 axis software with a little twist.  The image isn't so much a model as you would create in a 3D modeling software, rather, it's a simulation of the result of running the tool paths that were created from a 'plan view' drawing.

Here's hoping it will be an exact match when rendered in steel laugh

I have access to pro/engineer 3D software and started working DW parts.  Only have a 744VH8 shroud so far.

Looks nice, Hoss!  If we keep this up we'll have all the parts we need to build custom 'FrankenWessons' cool

I'm not sure what you are trying to do, but would moon clips work for you?

I just want to replace the extractor on my 15-2.  The original is worn and someone has filed it down... unevenly.  It functions, but...

My first 'swing' at it… on the right next to the original butchered extractor.  It needs to be relieved a bit in the cartridge rim area by a few thousands and I need to machine the locating dogs on the back but it sure is nice to hold the actual piece.

I machined this one from W1 tool steel… had a chunk lying around.  I need to get a vibratory polisher…

Once you get it fitted to the cylinder, it's gonna be as good as new. Excellent work, way to go!cool

Thanks, guys!  It is cool to know that part of the gun is of my own creation.

I will make a new shaft as well.  The original succumbed to the same ham fisted metal work as you can imagine… and since the the end of the shaft is a key component to the DW cylinder lock by way of the ball detent, it needs to be corrected to ease my wee brain.

Really cool on making your own parts!  Bet you can't wait to finish and try it out.

I ordered and received a new extractor from DW as a 'back up' and fit it to my revolver.  I decided I liked the fit and finish of mine better so I swapped the shaft over and installed it.  I need to get a 5-40 tap to chase the threads on the new shaft as the ejector will no thread in.

The factory new (and fit) DW is resting on the frame with mine installed.

Very impressive. Is your shaft press fit into the extractor, or did you use Loctite to hold it in place?
