Finally I won an auction. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=211921385
A model 22 with an 8" barrel. More than I wanted to spend (but heck, everything costs more than I want to spend) but I really wanted that 8" barrel.
Hopefully, I won't screw this up as it is my first internet purchase. I'll get the cashiers check and go to the receiving FFL tomorrow.
I promise to post pics when I get her.
Just one question, what does DWAS stand for?

Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome!
It means "you can't stop with just one"
Not a bad price, 8" is less common, and when you gotta have it, you gotta have it!
You decide the Value, and Price does not equal Value
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I would love to get my hands a 22, but I cant see spending that money just yet myself either. I use to have one.. and LOVED It. My sister loved it too.. and would give me back my 715 if I could get her one.

The DW 722 of mine is a real tack driver and a pleasure to shoot, just wished I had more time to shoot the gun. But between my other guns, raising two grandsons and doing the house work because wife works, there just not enough time for this slow moving old fart.

The best part of having a 722 (besides the great ammo cost savings) is that I start a new shooter out on a very user friendly .22lr, then step them into exactly the same revolver in .357 mag, usually with an interim step with some .38 spl. This makes for a great training transition, and the joy on the face of a new shooter handling a .357 magnum inside of half an hour is great.
