I have in my possession a Palmer Mass made 715 in 357 Magnum. It is one of the fixed 3" barreled versions.

Ever since I joined here, I have been lusting over a blued, snub-nose Model 12, with the exposed barrel nut like the one pictured below.

Would it be a good deal if I found a nice one and did an even swap? Or is the model 12's more / less valuable?

Thanks!

The DW pictured in the photo above is a nice one.  Obviously you would need to consider the condition and accessories with each but I personally would give the 715FB a slightly higher value but it's subjective.

I agree with Jody, I would value the 715 FB a bit higher, but neither one is a high dollar Dan. If the condition is similar, it is not a bad trade if it gets you the one that you really want to own.

Or better yet keep the 715 and buy the model 12 toobig-grin

It's a good trade if you feel good about it. Value is determined individually.  That's a nice lookin' piece of iron!

Shoot, that is a beautiful gun and exactly what I want. I search google images and found that pic.

unfortunately, I do not have a lead on a W12 right now. I was thinking about making an ad in the classifieds for a trade, but wanted to know if it was a decent deal or not.

thanks!

Shoot, apparently you haven't read the DWF terms of service all photos become property of the dwf and of the best perk of all first dibs on all DW's sold by members!

Just kidding of course!  I knew the w12 belonged to a member but figured it was Dave's or CF's.

I would post a want ad I'm sure one will turn up.

Keep watching the sites the W's show up and you may find it better to sell the 715 fixed and buy your W!   Those of us that have a couple of these seem to hoard them!   Hey Shoot I new that one was/is yours!

I originally bought a model 12 thinking those big sights would help me shoot. Then I fell in love with the history and that beautiful 12 sided nut. Picked up the other two barrels off ebay. Just buy one and keep your FB 3" . You will be glad you did.
