I hope y'all may help me decide how much to make an offer of for a DW. A shop I go by from time to time has had a DW on the bottom shelf for almost a year now. It is a blue fixed barrel 44 just like NVGdude's.
I swiped his pic for reference. The Dan appears to have been fired very little and locks up tight with a crisp trigger pull. Now the bad part. It has two ugly gouges on the frame, one on top and one on the side. ( beats me as to what might have caused them) To deep to remove, but I am confident they are cosmetic only. The sticker price is $509 which IMHO is high for this set up but am considering making an offer next time I pass through. Any thought on it's value or if I should pass altogether. Thanks in advance guys.

Here's my opinion.
Considering the length of time it's been in that shop, you may have some price dickering leverage right there. If it was me, I'd offer $400 cash & see what happens. At that price, I'd feel I got a pretty decent deal. If the gun was in great condition & had a box & papers, I'd probably go $500, but with the gouges I think $450 is the absolute highest I'd go…
…unless DWAS took over & I lost all control of my faculties.

Tough question, and I'm not a great bargainer, but if it was me, I'd start at $350, and go no higher than $400.
My favorite DW place has had a 15-2 8H for over 6 months, every time I'm in they try to get me to take it for $299, every time I counteroffer at $250 out the door-they don't move, I don't buy.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Out here in CO, I'd jump all over that for $299.

It's functional, but a little challenged. The sideplate is slightly mis-aligned, maybe some fit problems in there. Now it's a matter of principle, I just got a 715 8VH + a 4V for $350 there.
BTW-Larry, sorry to hijack, good luck on the FB

Thanks y'all, That's about what I was thinking but I just am not much for haggling and have been watching this shooter for about a year. I don't need another 44 and was never real excited about a fixed barrel, but would like to have at least one in the collection. Awh who am I kidding I want them ALL!! Seriously though I may make them an offer next time I pass through. And of course If anyone is snake bit for this model I will gladly give up the contact info. Thanks
