Hi,
I am from Germany and because its compared to US difficult to get a permission for a handgun here I thought over two years about a DW.
And suddenly a Mod 12 appears and I could not resist.
Her SerNo: 1549
What are you thinking about that gun? I am interested in your opinions...
It is stored at a dealer until I get my permission (loads of paperwork)

Willkommen! Wo whonen Sie in Deutschland? Ich war in Schweinfurt 88-91 gelebt...
That's almost all my Deutsch except what I needed in the Hoffbrauhouse. Nice find. I imported a DW in 89 when the restriction for US servicemen wasn't in place. All my Freunds loved it. You'll like it too. Read here and learn!
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Looks like a beauty from this angle. Hope it doesn't take too long on the papers so yo can get her out to the range.

Perseverance payed off. That is a stunning model 12. It is rare to see one in such fine condition.Handle her carefully. Clean frequently under the pachmyer rubber grips as moisture gets trapped under them and can rust the frame. I would store it with the wood grips on and put the rubber one when you shoot. One change made early in DW history was to the hand spring and connector. The early hand spring was wrapped around the connector and pushed against the hand. That was changed to a spring that fit in a hole in the connector and a slot in the hand. On the early guns the spring would often break. EWK sells them. You should order a couple in case..

Hi Guys,
thanks for your greetings!
I live in the mid north of Germany (Teutoburger Wald, Detmold)
Half of the paperwork is done now and I got today the first permission I need. The second one I need is in progress.
I think about shooting her soon, about two weeks is possible.
Any suggestions about the best ammunition to buy for her ?
By the way, I am a reloading rookie. Now I am looking for loading data for my first Dan...

Best to check that gap on all six chambers, .003 would probably be OK on the the tightest chamber, but as the gun heats up you might have some cylinder binding problems if one of the chambers is less than .003 on a cold gun
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
