yes you are right, it is a mod 15. I was comparing it to models in standard catalogue of firearms, and did not go far enough back. Thanks. Also, with the loose sight, I can not turn the windage adjustment. Is there some "trick" like needing to do something to the other side (L) of the windage screw?

Ruger blackhawk sights do fit small frame DW's. I put one on my 722. The only issue some might have is that the ruger emblem is on the sight base.
Midway had them. Out of stock now but not a bad price.
